1974 - If you are a 'picker,' and a 'native-son' born in Bakersfield, California like Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, myself and a few others...... it is expected of you to do a little bit of 'Honky-Tonkin' country as part of your birthright..... And no better place for a San Joaquin Valley kid to record than Buck Owen's studio right smack-dad in Bakersfield. Well, I actually grew up a ways down the road in Madera but they say that when you're born there, you always carry a piece of Bakersfield with you... so, here is one of my pieces... got a "wee small award" from Nashville for this one... Ya'all come back now, you hear......
