1954 - First time ever in a recording studio as a 'solo' artist doing my first actual record. I had done several previous recordings but this time it was 'for keeps.' An auspicious beginning for a seventeen year old kid who always got 'butterflies' in his stomach when approaching a microphone. Thankfully, that went away in a few years. Eartha Kitt and several other 'name' singers would record this song. Made me enough in writer's royalties so I could buy Mother a new car...
